Mcclellanville was the spot where Nina and Jason decided they wanted their engagement portraits made…mainly because that is where Jason proposed! I had never been to that town, but I had heard that it was one of the worst hit areas when Hurricane Hugo came through in the late 80s. You could still see some bent over trees, and a shrimp boat that was blown inland.
Before the session, my husband Justin and I met Nina and Jason for dinner in Mt. Pleasant. Nina used to work with Justin, so I have known her for a while, but it was nice to get to know Jason. Turns out he’s a Clemson grad too - and we know a ton of the same people because my sorority used to have mixers with his fraternity. It always amazes me what a small world it is! Nina and Jason were kind enough to let us ride with them from Mt. Pleasant to Mccllanville, and Nina and I sat in the back and talked about wedding stuff (of course!) She showed me a picture of her dress (GORGEOUS!) and all of the awesome details that she has planned for the big day. The wedding, which is October 20, is going to be so beautiful. I just love great details!
First we went to the exact spot where Nina and Jason got engaged….a dock with a beautiful view of the waterway. Of course their golden retriever, Maggie, had to be a part of the fun as well!
Here’s the happy couple in the exact spot where Jason got down on one knee…
After finishing at the dock, we went and took some pictures at this huge old tree. We started by having some fun on the tire swing.
