‘Tis the season for bridal portraits!
Last Sunday afternoon, 2/11, I photographed Crystal’s (one of my March brides) bridal portraits at the State House here in Columbia. Funny story - she and her mom were running a little behind schedule, so we were losing light pretty quickly once they arrived. I totally understood though because everything having to do with weddings seems to take longer than you think!
Once they got there, I was working as quickly as I could to maximize the remaining daylight. As I was positioning her towards the end of the session, I noticed a GORGEOUS sunset peeking through the trees. SCORE!!! I totally used that sunset to our advantage, and it worked out perfectly that they were late. Had they been right on time we probably would have been finished before the sunset even made an appearance. It’s so funny how things work out just right sometimes! So now, instead of just gorgeous bridal portraits at the State House, we got phenomenal ones with a pink and orange sky!
Yesterday I had another bridal portrait, but this one was in Moncks Corner. I just realized the other day when I went to mapquest directions that I had been spelling that town’s name wrong my whole life. I never knew there was a ‘C’ in it! Silly me! ;) Anyway, I had the pleasure of photographing Brianna’s bridal portraits at the Santee Canal Park. That place is such a hidden treasure! SO picturesque. Her sweet mom was there, and her crazy aunt, who was a HOOT! I just LOVE getting to know the families of the people I work with. Each and every person is such a blessing to me!!
I just LOVE taking bridal portraits!!! The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t post any sneak peek images on my blog afterwards because we can’t have anyone getting a preview of the bride-to-be in the dress!!
I know this post was a bit random, just wanted to let you know what I’ve been up to!
PS - I know a ton of y’all are anxiously awaiting the trash the dress pictures….still workin on them in between editing for all of these sessions I’ve had lately.
PPS - I am working on something really exciting with my awesome and sweet friend, Amy - so keep checking back for some news on that!
