Jeannie & Cory: June 20, 2009

If I had to choose one word to describe Jeannie & Cory’s relationship, it would be playful.  They both have such fun personalities which translated to their wedding day!  I photographed their wedding Saturday at Ashland Methodist, and reception at the State Museum.   Not only do they have a blast together, but you can tell they are so in love.  Cory reminds me exactly of a red-headed Jack Black.  I think you’ll see why in these pictures :)  The most hilarious part of the day was when Jeannie & Cory kneeled to pray at the end of the ceremony.  All of the guests erupted in laughter when they saw what was taped to the bottom of Cory’s shoes :  ”Save Me”.  HA!!

Kristin & Kenneth: June 13, 2009

Last April I photographed Brittany & Caleb’s wedding in Charleston.   Now 14 months later, I had the amazing blessing of working with the Kierspe family again to photograph Kristin & Kenneth’s wedding in Moncks Corner.  I just loved working with both the Kierspe and Cordray families!  There were so many sweet touches that they incorporated throughout the day: both sets of parents gave the couple away, the cowboy boots that many of the guys and Kristin wore, surprise appearance at the reception by the Clemson Tiger and their first doggie child, Sugar, just to name a few!   There were several downpours throughout the day, but we were all covered with the big tent, so the party kept going!

Here are a few from the day!

Marclee & Andrew: May 30, 2009

Another amazing wedding!  Marclee & Andrew were married Saturday in North Augusta at Grace United Methodist (my 5th wedding at this church, I believe!).  I always love photographing North Augusta families because they are just so welcoming, and by the end of the event I feel like family!  Marclee & Andrew’s families were no exception!  The reception was at one of  the COOLEST reception venues I’ve ever photographed - Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta.  Sacred Heart was formerly a Catholic Church, which has not been turned into a fabulous place for events.

There was so much love and happiness!  The best part of the night was at the end when Marclee’s mom gave me a big hug and with tears in her eyes said that the whole night was even more than she expected.  What more can you ask for! I love it! :)

By the way, a frequently asked question is how do I decide which song to use for a couple’s slideshow.  I almost always use their first dance song.  Just so happens I had two couples in a row use “Lady Soul”  :) I love that song!

Here are a few from the amazing evening!

Marclee & Andrew: Sneak Peek!

Here is a quick sneak peek from Saturday!

mh

I’ll be posting more images and the slideshow by tomorrow!

The past 5 days have been absolutely INSANE!  I’m a little behind because of all of my recent shoots and travels: since Friday - 2 trips back and forth to North Augusta (rehearsal dinner & wedding), to Charlotte (bridal session), to Clinton (bridal session), and finally to Bamberg yesterday (corporate shoot), then a baby session last night.    Today and tomorrow are catch up in office days! :)

More to come soon!  Have a great day!

Lauren & Jason: May 23, 2009

On Saturday morning, as I was packing my car up to head downtown to shoot Lauren & Jason’s wedding , I looked up, saw dark clouds, and then felt a couple of raindrops on my head. Oh No.  I knew that both wedding and reception were outdoors at the Seibels House and Gardens.   The rain came and went, and thankfully didn’t disturb the beautiful wedding!  Of course, it was reassuring having the “Back up plan” tents set up, just in case :)  Working with Lauren and Jason has been so fun - and their family and friends were awesome too!  Here are a few favorites!

Lauren & Scott: May 9, 2009

Saturday we photographed Lauren & Scott’s wedding at the Mitchell House & Gardens in Lexington.      I have really enjoyed getting to know Lauren during the planning process…it seems like just yesterday I was meeting this precious couple in Barnes and Noble!   These two are SO in love and I just know they are going to have a blessed marriage!  We worked with many fabulous vendors, including Player Wedding Films.   James and Marianna are wonderful!

Erica & Jeroen: April 17, 2009

Erica & Jeroen’s wedding had to be one of the most geographically diverse I’ve ever photographed!  Erica and her family from Wisconsin, Jeroen and family from Holland, and many friends from Aruba (where Jeroen is currently living).  Both wedding and reception were at Wintergreen Woods in Lexington.  The night held many surprises…the best one was when Jeroen started singing Michael Buble and no one could tell it wasn’t Michael!  He sang “You’re Everything” to his new bride…SO SWEET!  Melanie Murphy of By Invitation Only planned and designed the event, and did a fantastic job as always! I love working with Melanie because I just know the wedding is going to go smoothly!  Also Leslie Whacker of Southern Stems did the floral design. FABULOUS!  Also thanks to my friend and fellow photographer Brantley Freeman who second shot for me! We had so much fun together! :) Here are some faves!
