Recharge Week

I’m taking this week off to recharge my batteries and get organized for 2010!  I have a busy year planned with lots of amazing things going on in both my personal and business-life :)  More on that later!

But for now, as a special treat, I’ll be posting pictures from all of those sessions that made my December so busy!  :)  My first catch up post will be later today.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and look forward to a Happy New Year!!

Sara & Andrew: December 19, 2009

Another fabulous December wedding!!

Sara & Drew were married in Charleston on Saturday and everything was JUST PERFECT!!  The weather was beautiful, which was a huge blessing after the torrential downpours and flooding in Charleston the night before.   The reception was at St Luke’s on the campus of MUSC (my second wedding there in 09!) and the reception was at the Francis Marion- which was gorgeous!  Sara was such a happy bride which made my job very easy. And you can just tell Drew is madly in love with Sara-the way he looks at her is so sweet.  I just know they are having a blast honeymooning in LONDON!  Christmas in London-how romantic! :)

Leslie & Ryan: December 12, 2009

Goodness, I can’t believe it was over a year ago that Leslie and I met over Starbucks coffee to chat about my wedding photography packages. Boy how 2009 has flown by!   I have really enjoyed getting to know Leslie & Ryan through the planning, engagement session, bridal session, and finally the wedding!!  My friend Wes Church (a minister at First Baptist) performed the ceremony at Riverland Hills Baptist in Irmo.  He did SUCH a great job of centering the ceremony on Christ. I just know that Leslie and Ryan will have a blessed marriage, and I cannot wait to see what God does through their union!! What a GORGEOUS Christmas wedding!!

Here are a few favorites, and of course CLICK HERE for the slideshow!!

Leslie and Ryan -  hope you are having a blast in Park City skiing for your honeymoon! :)

One more thing I wanted to mention…it’s so neat how I get the opportunity to meet so many amazing people through shooting weddings.  At Leslie & Ryan’s wedding I finally got to meet the author of a blog that I frequently read chronicling the journey of a young couple who are adopting two Ethoipian orphans.  I have been so inspired by their obedience to God!  It was so nice to meet you, Leigh and Gray!  What a nice surprise for our paths to cross!

Julie & Tom: Engagements

This sweet couple lives in the Boston area, but while they were in town for Thanksgiving we found some time to photograph their engagement portraits.  What incredible chemistry these two have! I hardly had had to direct them at all :)

What is a “Pearl Girl”?

41tu4nlfdll_bo2204203200_pisitb-sticker-arrow-clicktopright35-76_aa240_sh20_ou01_
I’m sure you have met her -that woman who has been through adversity in her life, but instead of allowing circumstances to defeat her, she allowed the Lord to use the tough situation to change and refine her into a woman even closer to the heart of God.  I have been reading a book which would define these special types of women as “Pearl Girls”.   I have been so encouraged and inspired over the past several weeks as I have read a compilation of true, real life, short stories of exceptional women in this book of essays “Pearl Girls - encountering grit, experiencing grace” compiled by Margaret McSweeney.
“Pearl Girls” would be a perfect gift for any lady in your life - mother, grandmother, aunt, sister!  There are a wide variety of topics addressed that would be relatable to common issues women face.   Here’s an excerpt of the book summary:
“you’ll be inspired by their stories of forgiveness, enriched by their wisdom and insight, and changed by the confidence they have in our Savior.  With each turn of the page, you’ll find renewed hope to believe “If God did that for her, I KNOW He can do it for me!”
Margaret McSweeney also has a blog where you can share your own story of transformation!

7 in 7

Wow this is starting to become a pattern on the blog. I get super-busy with sessions out of the office and go for weeks without updating my blog. Last week I was extremely busy with 7 sessions in 7 days.  So this week it’s all about EDITING!

My portrait sessions for the year are over, and I have two more weddings the next two weekends to finish the year strong.  Pictures from my busy week last week coming soon!
