On Saturday morning, as I was packing my car up to head downtown to shoot Lauren & Jason’s wedding , I looked up, saw dark clouds, and then felt a couple of raindrops on my head. Oh No. I knew that both wedding and reception were outdoors at the Seibels House and Gardens. The rain came and went, and thankfully didn’t disturb the beautiful wedding! Of course, it was reassuring having the “Back up plan” tents set up, just in case
Working with Lauren and Jason has been so fun - and their family and friends were awesome too! Here are a few favorites!

More images and slideshow to come! Happy Memorial Day!

Wow - I sure have been photographing the most precious babies and children lately! Last night’s portrait session was no exception. It was so nice meeting the Branham family! Little Addy and Reese are so cute! Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

The past couple of weeks have been so slammed for me! In addition to all of the sessions you’ve seen here on the blog, I’ve traveled to Charleston twice in the past 2 weeks to shoot bridal sessions (which unfortunately I can’t post yet). What a fun job I have! Thanks to all of my faithful blog readers and commenters!
Last week I drove out to Winnsboro to photograph the Price family - including adorable little Georgia Kate. She is the smiliest baby I have EVER photographed…and those big blue eyes - wow! Here are just a few

Earlier this week I photographed Rachel, Doug, and little Katie! Rachel booked me over the phone, and as soon as she opened the door to greet me I realized that we had some mutual friends in high school! It’s such a small world, and such fun to get reacquainted with people from the past. Katie is SO precious!

Saturday we photographed Lauren & Scott’s wedding at the Mitchell House & Gardens in Lexington. I have really enjoyed getting to know Lauren during the planning process…it seems like just yesterday I was meeting this precious couple in Barnes and Noble! These two are SO in love and I just know they are going to have a blessed marriage! We worked with many fabulous vendors, including Player Wedding Films. James and Marianna are wonderful!

Last week I photographed baby Jack’s first “Day in the Life” session, as a part of my new Baby’s First Year program. It is so fun when I photograph a couple’s wedding, and then I get the huge blessing of photographing their first baby! It’s so fun to share and capture the joy in these couple’s lives! Email me if you are pregnant and would like information on my “Babies First Year” program. Five session and three session packages available. I’m also available for travel.

Lots more coming from little Jack’s newborn session, along with Lauren & Scott’s wedding (shooting today)..
Have an awesome Saturday! Love you all!

Today, we celebrate four years of marriage. Justin is my love, my best friend, my laughter, my comfort. He is such a good man. Gosh I love him.
I want to share an excerpt of “Blue Like Jazz”. This chapter really spoke to me about what love is, and how true love is lived out. If I could go back and rewrite my wedding vows - this would be them
So often I think love is about me. Someone loving ME. Making ME happy. Fulfilling me. “Completing” me. True love, as Christ teaches us, is self sacrifice. Dying to self for the good of others. This is what marriage is all about, I’m learning. Still got a long way to go. Here’s the passage from Chapter 13.
“I will give you this, my love, and I will not bargain or barter any longer. I will love you, as sure as He has loved me. I will discover what I can discover and through you remain a mystery, save God’s own knowledge, what I disclose of you I will keep in the warmest chamber of my heart, the very chamber where God has stowed himself in me. And I will do this to my death, and to death it may bring me. I will love you like God, because of God, mighted by the power of God. I will stop expecting your love, demanding your love, trading for your love, gaming for your love. I will simply love. I am giving myself to you, and tomorrow I will do it again. I suppose the clock itself will wear thin its time before I am ended at this altar of dying and dying again.
God risked Himself on me. I will risk myself on you. And together, we will learn to love, and perhaps then, and only then, understand this gravity that drew Him, unto us.”
That is simply beautiful.
