We’re back! The trip was fabulous but we were both so ready to get home!! I was having major cravings for Starbucks and Chick-fil-a! I’ll be writing more as I have time and of course posting pictures.
I’ve got a lot to catch up on now, especially since I got sick the week before we left and was out of commission for a couple days. Speaking of that, I was probably back up to 80% when we landed in Rome and fully recovered by our second stop in Tuscany. I feel so fortunate that so many people were lifting my condition up in prayer. A couple days before we left I woke up with a 103 fever! Not good. We were thinking for a while we would not be able to go but most of our hotel reservations were non-refundable. God is GOOD and answered everyone’s prayers because I woke up on Friday morning (the day we left) without a fever at all, and was able to enjoy the trip fully without feeling yucky. Thanks again for all of y’all that had stuff put off so that I could rest and recover. More to come! Back to work!!

Update: I am feeling a bit better! I’m at the doctor’s office right now-mainly as a precaution. I’m multi-tasking by working on my packing list. Things are looking up. Thank you all so much for your emails, calls, and texts to check on me! (posted from iPhone)
Y’all, please pray for me and send some positive thoughts my way. I got home from my first session this morning and just felt icky. Chills, cough, head hurting…. I had to cancel my second session for the day because I kept feeling worse and worse, and that totally broke my heart because I was REALLY looking forward to doing some fun creative stuff with an awesome bride.
Of course my first thought is that I hope I’m better by Friday - because as all of you blog followers know, that is when we leave to go to Italy for 9 days. To be honest the bigger thought in my head right now is all I’ve got to do between now and Friday. I’ve got so much to do, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. You know in college when you had four huge tests in one week? Thats how I feel right now. I’m slowly but surely going down the checklist but it keeps growing! Arrgg! And all I want to do right now is curl up in bed. My sweet husband left work to go pick me up some medicine to kick this in the butt early, so lets hope this works!

As Amanda and I were heading into Gilbert on Saturday afternoon, the dark storm clouds looked ominous. By the time we got there and unloaded our gear, the wind was whipping around so much that you would have thought we hadn’t even brushed our hair. I’ve always heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck - so Erin and Scott already have a some good luck coming their way because it not only rained, it hailed and stormed like crazy! These two don’t need luck though. They have the love and support of amazing friends and family, which goes further than any wedding day rain good luck could go.
Here are some from Saturday. The wedding was at Gilbert United Methodist and the reception was at the Columbia Museum of Art. It was another fun reception with the dance floor full the whole night. The band was Intensity, and they kept the party going….HIGHLY recommended by me! They were so good! I’ll be posting the slideshow soon!

Erin & Scott, enjoy your fabulous honeymoon!

I can’t believe we leave for our Italy trip on Friday! We could not be more excited!! But in between now and then I’ve one of the busiest weeks I can remember. On top of packing (which really will probably be done midnight on Thursday knowing me), I’ve got a portrait session in Charleston tomorrow, two portrait sessions on Tuesday and one on Thursday. Whew. I’ll be ready for a vacation! I’ve also got a ton of editing to do to make sure these lovely brides don’t have to wait longer than needed for their pictures. An album to design (thanks for being so patient Kristy!) Oh yeah..and taxes. I’ve GOT to get that stuff together to take to my accountant. And make our rental car reservation and check out tours in Venice and confirm our hotels, go to the bank to get Euros…oh boy. I’ve got more to do than I thought!
Right now, though, I’m listening to some Kari Jobe and backing up the photos from Erin & Scott’s wedding last night. I’ve already picked out a few of my favorites, which you can expect here soon. Till then, enjoy this shot…one of the last from the night -on the way to the limo. What a cute couple!!

Also, notice I have put a quick link to the right of some past slideshows, so you don’t have to go through the archives of this blog to find them.
Sunday afternoon I had my first ever double bridal/engagement session. Julianne & Jon are getting married in May, so we’re on a shorter time frame than usual so we decided to knock both sessions out at the same time. It worked out pretty well! We shot the bridal portraits in Mt. Pleasant and then headed over to Sullivan’s Island for the engagements.
It was fun hanging out with Julianne, her mom, and cousin for half the day. Also they got helped get Vivian out of an almost disaster. Vivian is my beloved Volvo that has over 110k miles on it that has never had any issues…so I didn’t want to break the chain of good luck. Somehow (who knows) I got it stuck at the bridal portrait location, but thanks to some manpower we were able to get her out without any troubles..thank the Lord!
Since I can’t blog about the bridal portraits (which are gorgeous!) I’ll post a few from the engagement session. I’m excited about their wedding in May!

Saturday morning Kristin & Phillip got married! Yes thats right, an 11am wedding with a brunch reception. I thought the idea was genius because they actually had a little time to breathe after the wedding before hopping on a plane to Mexico. I can truly say it was a blessing being a part of their wedding. I am friends with Kristin’s sister, Rachel and now I’m proud to call Kristin a friend too. This ceremony brought tears to my eyes. The thing that stuck out to me the most in the whole ceremony was when Wes, the officiant (Kristin’s brother in law) said that Kristin and Phillip have tasted and seen that the Lord is good, and it reflects from their life. That statment has stayed with me, and I hope to live my life in the same way - that those around me know that the Lord is good and I reflect a small bit of His glory. Thank you for letting me participate in your special day.
On to some pictures! The slideshow is coming probably tomorrow. I’m running a bit behind on things because my inbox seems to be a bottomless pit these days. I’m certainly not complaining though
How many bridesmaids does it take to get a bride dressed?

Kristin getting the final touches on her hair

Gorgeous Kristin

Handsome Phillip

I loved her color choices and the bridesmaid dresses. They can TOTALLY rewear those. I know we always say that but its true this time!!

I always love this shot. Check out Phillip’s face. Simply a perfect moment.

A moment of prayer-

This is always one of my favorite parts of the ceremony - the blessing of the couple.

A couple of portraits of the couple. They were SO excited!!

A sweet moment between Kristin & her grandfather at the reception

and finally, the cake!

The slideshow coming up
Thanks again Kristin, Phillip, (& Rachel!) for everything. I know y’all are going to have such an awesome marriage.
Happy Monday morning!! I just wanted to apologize for the lack of posting, and let you know that I’ll be posting some new stuff later today or tomorrow. I shot Kristin & Phillip’s sweet wedding on Saturday, and then yesterday was down in Charleston and Sullivan’s Island for a double bridal portrait/engagement portrait session. Its been a busy but fun couple of days!
