Favorite Things..

Christmas has come and gone once again. I’m getting ready for my already busy 2008 season, putting the finishing touches on 2007..

Some of my favorite things right now:

- New Zealand artist Brooke Fraser .  Check her out on ITunes. (she’s got a cool name too!).  I wish I knew how to imbed video in my blog - I would post a video of her singing "Hosanna" with Hillsong United. AWESOME!!!!

-Transiberian Orchestra (yes I’m still listening to Christmas Music!)

- My new IPOD speaker dock

- Gift cards!

- Two new puppies - Izzy and Sophie. Izzy (on right) is mine and Justin’s new baby, and Sophie is my parents’. They are sisters.  Too cute!

Merry Christmas!

Just a short post to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  Tonight Justin and I are going with friends to Travinia and to then see the Transiberian Orchestra, then tomorrow we’ll be in Gaffney w/ Justin’s family, then Christmas day here in Columbia with my family.  Y’all have a very blessed Christmas.

Carlee & Parker’s Engagements

Sunday I was down in Atlanta to photograph Carlee & Parker’s engagement portraits (well, to go Ikea, shopping, good eating too! I love ATL!) I’ve know Carlee for a really long time. In high school although we’re a couple years apart in age, we were in “Viking Singers” together and we were roomates when we went down to Disney world with the group to sing. I just remembered that as I was editing these pictures! LOL! Now she lives down in Atlanta and has an adorable fiance, Parker. These two are just as cute as can be and have such a playful relationship (which makes it easy to photograph!). These two were also such troopers…it was 38 degrees and VERY windy on Sunday!

They met at Park Tavern (at Piedmont Park), so the park was a perfect location.

Kristin & Phillip’s Engagements

What a sweet couple! I met Kristin and Phillip at the State House for their engagement session last week. It was unseasonably warm - in the 70s which is a stark contrast from the engagement session I just did Sunday (I’ll be blogging that next). Here are some from our session:

Don’t give up on me!

I just realized its been a couple weeks since I blogged last!  I guess its just that time of year…Family portraits, Christmas cards galore, last minute gift orders…I’ve been a tad busy! Its not possible for me to post every session I’ve done over the past few weeks, but there have been quite a few and they’ve been so fun!

I’m about to run out the door to eat dinner with my parents and go to a Christmas presentation. I just love the Christmas season.  It is so easy to get distracted and forget the real meaning though. I’ve been trying this year to be deliberate in not getting so caught up in the craziness but unfortunately have not been too succssful.     I mainly wanted to post to let y’all faithful blog readers know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth :)  Thanks everyone for being patient with me this season..it seems I may have taken on a little too much (my husband always reminds me of this).  Here is the picture we chose for our Christmas card this year….at my sisters’ wedding last year.  More to come soon :)  Hope you all are having a blessed Christmas season!!

My last wedding of the year!

I met April through a Dianne - a bride I photographed back in October works with April’s dad. Well, it turns out after meeting that we had two other connections. April worked with one of my college best friends in Washington DC for an internship, and her matron of honor used to work with my husband. I am more convinced every day of what a small world it is!

April is one of the sweetest people I have had the priviledge to work with. As we sat at Starbucks last week going through the last minute details of her big day, I couldn’t help but notice that it felt more like I was chatting with an old friend than with a client. What is cool is I often times have this connection with my brides..but then it is kind of sad when we don’t get to talk as much after wedding planning is over. Anyway - on to the pictures!

Slideshow coming very soon! (later today I promise!)

Their reception was at the Clarion downtown, which was very nice. First Dance-

April and her Dad dancing. It was so fun to see the two of them dance - they sure have some moves! Every now and then, when the stars align and everything is perfect, I can take advantage of Amanda’s flash to get creative-

Bryson, and many family members of both families, were in the military. Bryson is in the Air Force as were a few of his groomsmen. I love the cake cutting with the sword!
