Sandy & Stark- July 28, 2007

Sandy and Stark were married this past Saturday at First Baptist of North Augusta.   I remember the first time I met Sandy.  It was at a wedding shower for her cousin, Lindsy, who is a sorority sister of mine and good friend of my sister’s (and also matron of honor in Sandy’s wedding).  Sandy is the type of person that lights up a room with her fun personality and hilarious sense of humor.  It has been fun getting to know her and Stark better during their engagement and wedding.   Here are a few sneak peek images from their wedding-

Here’s a sweet moment in the bride’s room at the church as Lindsy is helping Sandy put on her shoes.  I love how Sandy is holding her grandmother’s hand.

The ceremony was beautiful - Sandy and Stark wrote their own vows which were very touching.  They also chose to light a unity candle.

The reception was at Marbury Center, which I believe was an old fire station.  Sandy is a teacher, and a lot of her students came to the wedding all the way from Columbia.  You could tell they adore her.  Here are a few of them:

Sandy and Stark, I hope you’re having fun in Jamaica!

I’ll be posting the slideshow soon!

Sandy’s Clemson Bridals

Sandy and Stark had a gorgeous wedding in North Augusta this past Saturday! Since Sandy is now officially a Mrs. I can post the bridal portraits, which we took at Clemson in June.  Sandy and Stark are both Clemson alums, so this was a perfect spot for her portraits.  We went all over campus: the botanical gardens, Tillman hall, Bowman, Sikes, and the staduim.  Here are just a few -

And one more on Bowman field.

I’ll have their slideshow and some sneak peek pics from the wedding up shortly.

Brittany & Caleb, Engagements

Earlier this week, I photographed Brittany and Caleb’s engagement portraits.  I had never met them before, but as soon as we met up at the Battery we totally hit it off! They are both Clemson grads (yay!) and such a fun couple.  I’m looking forward to photographing their April 2008 wedding at First Baptist Charleston.  Here are some of my faves from our session:

Emily Elizabeth

About three and a half weeks ago, my friend Brook and her husband Brian were blessed to bring this sweet baby, Emily Elizabeth, into the world.  And Monday, I was honored to have her very first photo session.  I had such a good time catching up with Brook and hearing about the birth.  Brook’s mom was in town too - so it was nice to meet the "Nana" (although she does NOT look like a grandmother!) :)

Emily is so beautiful, and truly a miracle as all babies are.  It reminds me of Psalm 139:3 -

"For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb".

Brook is going to be such an amazing mother.  She has such a gentle and humble spirit, and a heart for Christ.  Here are some of my favorites from our session.

Nina & Jason, Engagements

Mcclellanville was the spot where Nina and Jason decided they wanted their engagement portraits made…mainly because that is where Jason proposed! I had never been to that town, but I had heard that it was one of the worst hit areas when Hurricane Hugo came through in the late 80s.  You could still see some bent over trees, and a shrimp boat that was blown inland.

Before the session, my husband Justin and I met Nina and Jason for dinner in Mt. Pleasant.  Nina used to work with Justin, so I have known her for a while, but it was nice to get to know Jason.   Turns out he’s a Clemson grad too - and we know a ton of the same people because my sorority used to have mixers with his fraternity.  It always amazes me what a small world it is!  Nina and Jason were kind enough to let us ride with them from Mt. Pleasant to Mccllanville, and Nina and I sat in the back and talked about wedding stuff (of course!)  She showed me a picture of her dress (GORGEOUS!) and all of the awesome details that she has planned for the big day.  The wedding, which is October 20,  is going to be so beautiful.  I just love great details!

First we went to the exact spot where Nina and Jason got engaged….a dock with a beautiful view of the waterway.  Of course their golden retriever, Maggie, had to be a part of the fun as well! :)

Here’s the happy couple in the exact spot where Jason got down on one knee…

After finishing at the dock, we went and took some pictures at this huge old tree.  We started by having some fun on the tire swing.

Keepin’ Busy!

These past few days have been pretty crazy but fun! I’ve got several sessions to blog about once I catch my breath.

Sunday, Justin and I went down to McClenanville (north of Charleston) to do some engagement pictures.  It was a nice treat for my husband to ride down with me.  We actually met the couple, Nina and Jason, for dinner in Mt. Pleasant before the session, and then rode the spot where they wanted their pictures made together.  It was a good thing we rode with them because I think I would have gotten lost on those lowcountry backroads!

Yesterday, I did a session for my friend Brook’s sweet 3 week old newborn.  TOO CUTE!

And right after I finish this post, I’ve got to pack up my things to hit the road to Charleston for Brittany & Caleb’s engagement session.  SO much fun!

A couple of upcoming things as well on the calendar: Sandy and Stark’s North Augusta wedding this Saturday, Jennifer and Jason’s engagement session Sunday in Charleston, and then back to Charleston middle of next week for some family portraits.  Yes, that means 4 trips to the Charleston area in 2 weeks for me.  I am trying to convince my husband we need a condo down there since I’m always up and down I-26 (kidding!  …kind of :)  I just love Charleston - so many awesome places to photograph!

Just wanted to give a quick update on what’s going on in my world! I’ll be posting some pics for sure soon!

Mary Ashley + Juan; 07-07-07

I’m a bit delayed in getting this posted because unfortunately ALL last week I was battling a stomach virus, and then from what I understand I got an infection as well…but now 3 doctors and a ton of medicine later, I feel worlds better! And now I am in Hilton Head with my husband because he’s got a conference down here.  I could not believe it, but the hotel down here does not have wireless internet, so here I am camped out at Starbucks for my internet fix :)

July 7, 2007 was supposedly one of the most popular wedding dates of all time! Mary Ashley and Juan had a beautiful day for a wedding, although it was a bit hot.  Their wedding was at College Place United Methodist and the reception was at the Kilgore Lewis House.  It was such a blessing to work with Mary Ashley and the Cann family.  Mary Ashley was one of the calmest, laid back brides I have encountered… She is such a special person, and included many meaningful touches to the wedding, such as having some of her special education students as greeters at the ceremony.

I’ve been getting some excited brides walking back down the aisle! From Megan’s awesome expression at last week’s wedding, to Mary Ashley just not being able to contain her excitement. I just love it!

Mary Ashley

Last night, I photographed Mary Ashley and Juan’s wedding here in Columbia.  It was so sweet, and I got to see a lot of people I haven’t seen in a while!  Mary Ashley and I went to middle school together.  More on the wedding later!

But now that Mary Ashley is married, I can show some of her fun bridal portraits we did at the College of Charleston, where she went to school.   I think these totally show off her carefree personality. :)   I’ll update on the wedding in a little bit.

Megan & Joseph

Wow! Another fun wedding!

Megan and Joseph were married Saturday at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church in Leesville.  I’ve been looking forward to Megan and Joseph’s wedding for a while. From the time I met them, I just knew it would be such a good time.  And the bridesmaids - they were all so fun! There were so many times I felt like they were my good friends, and I had to remind myself that I had just met them! :)  The dancing was non-stop, which makes for some really fun pictures.  Here are some sneak peek images! (Link to slideshow at the bottom)
