Sandy + Stark Engagement Portraits

Yesterday I rode down to Folly Beach with Sandy and Stark for their engagement portraits.  It was fun, despite the cold!  Sandy and Stark are getting married in July.  There were so many good ones, it was hard picking which ones to post! :) Here are a few of my favorites:

A friend of Sandy’s told her about this lighthouse down at Folly. I did not even know it existed!  I guess it is because once you get to the end of the road, you still have to walk about a quarter mile to find it.  It was worth the walk though!

I love this one!

We had so much fun yesterday!

Melissa + Charles, Kiawah Island

Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Stafford!

I had a good time yesterday on Kiawah Island, photographing Melissa and Charles’ wedding.  I had never been to The Sanctuary before, but that place was absolutely GORGEOUS.  The whole time I was planning a weekend getaway for Justin and me.

This wedding was very small and intimate, but you could just tell how much this family loves each other.   Here are a few of my favorites:

After the ceremony, the family had dinner at The Jasmine House, a restaurant at The Sanctuary.  The food looked SO good!!  Here’s the cake (post cake cutting) with the family in the background.

Thanks for allowing me to be part of your big day!

Studio Update

Whew!! Justin and I just got back from spending most of the day working in my new studio. For those who do not know, I’ll be moving into a new studio/office space in the next month or so.  It is located in an old historic house in the Old Shandon area (off of Woodrow St.).

I must say, we made a TON of progress today!  My husband has been such a trooper, working so hard on getting it ready.   After two trips to Atlanta for furniture, many hours painting, more hours moving furniture in, hanging curtains, etc, I’m FINALLY ready to do the fun part - start hanging my photographs!  I’m so excited!  So the rest of tonight, I’m going to go through my portfolio and pick out some of my favorites to showcase in my studio.

Monday I’ll be making the trip down to Kiawah to photograph Melissa and Charles’ wedding at The Sanctuary.  I’m really looking foward to kicking off my wedding season.  So be sure to check back next week for some of those!

Three Precious Little Girls

Today I had so much fun with the Bryan family.  They have three beautiful children - all girls!  Here are a couple of my favorites:

Here’s adorable four-month old Sara Hunter.  So cute, and such a happy baby.

Four year old Mary Grace, and two year old Caroline.  You can tell they love each other so much.

It really touched me to see Mary Grace interact with her baby sister.  She was singing her lullabys and I captured this moment while their mom was upstairs with Caroline.  Totally unscripted, but priceless!

2007 Wedding Season

I have been so blessed in 2007 with 16 confirmed wedding commissions, and 3 pending contracts.  I’m going to be one busy girl. Each and every wedding is special to me - they’re not just dates to fill on my calendar. I am committed to giving each of my brides the best service I can give, and for this reason I’ve decided to only take a few more weddings in 07 (maybe 2 or 3).  I want to make sure I can deliver this awesome service to every single couple.   So if you’ve been on the fence, give me a call to make sure you get your date.  :)

More of my sister….

I promised to post some more of the bridal portraits from my two sessions I did for my sister Elizabeth, who just got married this past Saturday.  I couldn’t post these earlier because I didn’t want anyone to see her in her gown before the big day!

The wedding was gorgeous - I did not take my camera because I wanted to enjoy the wedding as a guest and family member….so I’m sorry for not being able to post any images from the day itself…

A lot of these are a little on the more artistic side vs. the traditional. That’s what she wanted, and of course I was happy to oblige :)  Here are a few more from our ‘barn’ session:

Isn’t my sister absolutely beautiful!! I’m so happy for her and Jon.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! I cannot believe it is already 2007.  I have had quite an eventful weekend - as my sister’s wedding was this past Saturday, then Sunday morning my husband and I drove down to Atlanta to meet up with some friends for New Years.

CLICK HERE to see my sister’s wedding announcement in The State paper.  Of course I took the portrait! :)  Isn’t she gorgeous?

To close, here’s another portrait of her. This was one of her favorite ‘fun’ ones.  We did some at this awesome old barn out in Blythewood, and then did the more formal ones in Charleston.  I’ll be posting more later so be sure to check back!
