On the Road Again…

Tomorrow I’m heading down to Savannah for a girls weekend to celebrate my sister’s upcoming wedding.  I’m really looking forward to it!  I can’t believe he wedding is exactly one month from today!

I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I did :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving.  I am so excited for tomorrow. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of several reasons…uninterrupted family time, shopping on Friday, and especially because after Thanksgiving my Christmas CDs get to come out! :)

I will not have access to email, because I’ll be spending the holiday with my family and Justin’s family, neither of which have high speed Internet.  So I’m going to take a little break and I’ll get back with everyone on Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Benjamin

Here’s another from this past weekend.  I had the pleasure of photographing Benjamin back in May, when he had just mastered crawling. Now, he’s gotten the hang of walking too - and he was hard to keep up with!  We started with some Christmas themed shots.

Then we ventured outside, where I got a good workout chasing this little man around.

Doesn’t he have the most beautiful eyes!

Mary Kathryn

Whew! I’ve had such a busy weekend! Four portrait sessions in three days.  It has been so much fun.

I’ll be posting some of my favorites from each of them (except the bridal portrait of course!).  First, this afternoon I photographed one of my favorite little girls - Mary Kathryn.  She is such a beautiful child, and always has the cutest clothes!

We started off at the Festival of Trees at the State Museum.  We got some cute shots in front of some cool trees there.

Then we went over to Finlay park to do some outdoor casual shots. Isn’t her outfit just adorable!

There are more to come from this weekend - check back soon :)

Here’s the BIG announcement!

So…my parents came over for dinner tonight to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and I finally told them the big news.  So now I can post it here! (I would have hated for them to hear of it first from my blog) :)

Brooke Turner Photography is about to get a new home!  I’m going to start leasing an office in the Historic Old Shandon area of Columbia.  My new office/gallery is in the upstairs of a Historic house off of Woodrow Street - a couple of blocks off of Devine Street.  The main purpose of this new space is to showcase my work and new products, and to have an awesome place to meet with future clients.  I’m really excited about it!! There’s a lot of work to do to make it my own, so it will probably be around mid January - early February before we’re in.

In the future it may be a space I could use for studio work, depending on how much space everything else takes up. But those of y’all that know me know I’m not much of a studio type gal..at this point I just love natual light portraiture!

I can’t wait! I hope everyone will come by and visit once I’m in :)

I’ve been getting several inquiries a week for 2007 wedding dates.  So, to make it easier on my potential clients, I’ve added my availability to my website.  I’m going to post it here too:

Today was a great day!

This is my second post in a row without pictures :)  Sorry about that!

Tonight, I met the with sweetest couple (Megan and Joseph), and Megan’s mother.  It really confirmed to me that I am so blessed! I absolutely love what I do.  I love everything about it…meeting new people, hearing their stories, and of course making people happy with my photography.  Also I got the nicest email from the mother of the children I photographed this weekend.  It makes me so glad when I hear that my clients are thrilled with my work.  Thank you so much to all of my clients!! Y’all make what I do so much fun.

Megan & Joseph, I hope y’all decide on a June 30 wedding date so I can photograph your wedding! :)

Also, I have some VERY big news coming about Brooke Turner Photography.  Only three people know about it..I’ve been keeping it very quiet.  My parents don’t even know! So stay tuned - I will be making a big announcement in the next few days.  (Oh, and notice I said the news is about my business, not personal life…I know the first question will be "Are you pregnant"?  :) The answer to that is NO!  haha )

Bridal Portraits…again

About a month ago I mentioned in one of my posts that I took some fun, creative bridal portraits of my sister around Columbia (she’s getting married December 30th).   Yesterday, we went down to Charleston to do some more.  I guess that’s one of the ‘perks’ of having a photographer as a sister….as many bridal portrait sessions as you like in multiple locations! :)  We had so much fun, as we always do together.

My sister is having Juliet from Hair by Juliet do her hair for the wedding.  Yesterday she did a hair trial, and oh my gosh, it looked GORGEOUS!! Juliet did exactly what my sister wanted.  She is truly amazing.  And then she decided to tag along with us to make sure her hair stayed looking good.  If you are looking for someone to do wedding hair in the Charleston area, Juliet is your girl.   She’s awesome!

The Raines Family

I photographed the Raines family this morning.  We started out at their home, and then went to the cute little park behind the Irmo town hall.  I’d never been to that park, and didn’t even know it existed! It is such a nice place for photographs.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

We did some cute ones in their adorable Christmas sweaters.  Nancy always has the CUTEST clothes for these children!

Here’s another…

Thanks for everything! I had a good time with y’all this morning :)
